There are works of art in the Landesmuseum Mainz that remind us that people of the Jewish faith were fellow citizens, patrons of the arts and collectors. Some of these artworks have a dark past. Uwe Bergmann-Deppisch is a historian and, together with Ulrike Bergmann, takes you on a walk through Mainz in the footsteps of Jewish art collectors.

The two were supported by Tobias Bast, who took the photos for the project and helped edit the texts.

This is how the audio walk works:

Go to the respective station in the city area. Click on the corresponding image to listen to the text of the audio tour on your own smartphone. Alternatively, you can also read the text, which you will find above the audio at each station.

Duration: approx. 60 minutes, pure listening time 45 minutes
Walking distance: approx. 2 km
