Since 2019, the Landesmuseum Mainz has been researching the provenance of items acquired between 1933 and 1945 in a second provenance research project funded by the German Lost Art Foundation. The exhibition "Origin [un]clarified" not only presents an overview of the research of recent years but also some selected case studies. However, the research and stories behind these properties and their former owners are much more extensive. In the app, we would therefore like to show you a little more about the background and what we have researched over the last few years. For our international visitors, the app also contains additional translations of the exhibition.
