Friedrich Broo (*1879), born in Mainz and called Fritz, also had an art and antiques business from 1900, first in Wiesbaden and Cologne, then from 1925 in Berlin. He was the cousin of Jean Baptist Broo.
In 1960, he claimed not only to have been a sworn expert for Greater Berlin and a member of the board of the art and antiques dealers' association but also to have run one of Berlin's most respected businesses with a reputation both at home and abroad. A fact that has not yet been confirmed. However, it is documented that Fritz Broo was refused admission to the Reich Chamber of Fine Arts in 1936 and was no longer allowed to work as an art dealer, as he had been active in the Rhenish Separatist Movement in 1922. At the beginning of 1934, he was also expelled from the NSDAP, which he had joined in 1933. After the death of his wife Martha, Fritz Broo moved back to Wiesbaden in 1940.
