Martin Ullmann

Martin Julius Ullmann was the son of Leopold Ullmann and Jenni Louise, née Kaufmann. His father Leopold was an official auctioneer in Mainz from 1912-1935 and ran an antiques store at Flachsmarkt, entrance Emmeransstraße. He also had to close his business due to persecution. At least part of his stock was auctioned off at the Witte auction house in Wiesbaden in 1935. Leopold Ullmann managed to leave Germany in 1941. He wanted to follow his son into emigration but died on the crossing to Cuba.
