The "Tomb of the Weisenauer Gärtner" is remarkable in several ways. In contrast to almost all the other gravestones in the stone hall, it was still in its original place when it was found in Mainz-Weisenau in 1926. Remains of the grave goods had even been preserved under the plinth: a small glass bottle, a fragment of a clay figurine and a piece of molten glass. In the stone hall, only the figure niche, which stands on a cornice, is displayed as part of a multi-part pillar monument, originally 4-5 meters high. As the inscription block was not found despite an intensive search, the couple carved in high relief remains nameless. The name "Weisenauer Gärtner" is an artistic term derived from the place of discovery and the flower in the man's left hand. The seated man in native Celtic dress and his standing wife in Roman dress, but with Celtic jewelry, have chosen a striking Roman pillar tomb as their final resting place.
