Between 1904 and 1906, Louis Scheuer establishes the “Privatschule Scheuer” business school in Trier, which is open to both Jews and Christians, as well as men and women, and becomes the largest and most prominent school in the city. As a culturally committed and firmly integrated citizen, he is a member of the “Heuschreck” carnival society, works for various newspapers based in Trier and is a theatre critic and author. Under pressure from the National Socialists, his business school closes in 1935 following his exclusion from the city’s theatre in 1934. In 1936, he moves to Frankfurt am Main with his Christian wife before dying in the city in 1958.
