Matchstick factory Benedick, Haupt & Co. in Albersweiler, 1924

One of the factory owners, Heinrich Benedick, comes from a long-established and affluent Jewish family in Albersweiler. He is arrested as part of the November pogroms in 1938, deported to Dachau concentration camp and then relocated several times before being murdered at the Jungfernhof concentration camp in Riga, Latvia.
