Lead seal (replica)

Seals are used to join together the cords and threads of packaging for a wide variety of goods. They are designed to protect against unauthorized access. They can also be used as customs seals to show that customs duties have been paid. This lead seal shows a rather roughly drawn menorah. It is uncertain whether the depiction of the menorah also represents the purity of the goods as stipulated by the Jewish religious law (kashrut).
